Here's How Atlanta's First Float Spa Can Benefit Your Health

Floating has become an increasingly popular way to relieve anxiety — among other health benefits — and there's a new oasis in the Atlanta area.

David Munn opened the new float spa, Floasis Float Center, after using a similar tank to help ease his back pain, he explained to What Now Atlanta.

Munn recounted his back injury six years ago, which led to several surgeries. Eventually, he sought a “more holistic” approach, turning to massages, acupuncture and, ultimately, floating.

Atlanta doesn’t have a float center, let alone a world-class float center,” Munn said to What Now Atlanta. “Very selfishly, I built this thing for everybody.”

So, how does a float session work?

“Your body floats effortlessly in a stimulus-free, zero-gravity tank, creating an environment for your body and mind to rest and heal,” Floasis’ website reads. First-time float sessions are $59.

Floasis is hailed as “a revolutionary way to think and feel better,” relieving stress and anxiety as well as “improving sleep, calming your mind, reducing pain and inflammation, and enhancing creativity and productivity,” among other benefits.

Floasis Float Center is open Sundays and Mondays from noon to 6 p.m., Thursdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Floasis Float Center is located at 3655 Roswell Rd., Suite 85.
