Police Seek Man Accused Of Calling Fake Bomb Threat To Ex-Wife's Business

Gwinnett County police are on the lookout for a man who allegedly called in a fake bomb threat to his ex-wife’s business.

Police obtained an arrest warrant for Joshua Stone, 43, of Atlanta.

Stone apparently called 911 on January 20 and told dispatchers that someone was threatening to blow up Smoothie King, located on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth, according to a press release from the Gwinnett County Police Department on Tuesday (January 26).

Officers responded to the scene, along with EMS, SWAT, Hazardous Device Unit, K9 and a police helicopter.

“The store was closed for over two hours before investigators learned that Stone’s ex-wife was the owner of the business,” the release states. “She was able to tell detectives that Stone had been harassing her and had previously been arrested for violation of a protection order against her.”

Investigators identified stone on the recorded 911 call, which he apparently made from the Atlanta area. Authorities then obtained an arrest warrant for Transmitting a False Public Alarm. Officials believe Stone is still in the Atlanta area, and are seeking the public’s help finding him, according to the release.
